At Oliver Ames there is a fundraising club called “Jimmy Fund Club”. The Jimmy Fund is a club that helps raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Mrs. Sylvia is the new advisor for the club. She wants to see everyone chime into this amazing club.
“This club is for a really good cause, it’s something that the kids can get involved with, and also after high school they can still stay involved”.
The Jimmy Fund club has been around for a long time. The President for the club is Kayla Isleib, she always tries to encourage kids to join and help out this great organization.
“I am the president of the Jimmy Fund club but overall it is my job to make sure everyone that wants to be is involved and contributing to the club! We want all grades to help with this club and help take down cancer together!”
This club isn’t just a club at Oliver Ames, it’s a huge community helping all ages. This research is to help leukemia cure, new drugs, and more. The Jimmy fund club meets once a month in Mrs. Sylvia’s room (322).
“I think people should join the Jimmy Fund Club because it is such a great cause and it is truly eye opening to see the impact we can make.”
Make sure to come by Room 322 for their monthly meeting. If you want to get notified when they have a meeting, follow their instagram @the.jimmy.fund.club.oa. Come by and join soon to help with the fundraiser “Putting 4 Patients” in the spring around March!
