Here at Oliver Ames High School we had four of our spring sports teams make it into the playoffs. The girls tennis, girls lacrosse, softball, and baseball teams all earned the right to compete at the high level for spring sports.
The girls tennis team went into the D2 playoffs ranked #16 in the tournament. On May 27th, for their first game they welcomed the visiting #17 ranked Masconomet in the Round of 32. Sadly, the girls team didn’t leave with the win, as the game went in favor of Masconomet, with the final score being 4-1.
The girls lacrosse team entered the D2 playoffs ranked #24. For their Prelim Round game on May 18th, they traveled to North Attleboro and defeated them 15-11. In the Round of 32, the Tigers saw themselves going on the road again, when they had to face #9 Westwood on May 26th. Westwood defended their home turf and secured the win 21-2.
The OA softball team was ranked #29 for the playoffs. In the D2 Prelim round, they faced off against #36 Northampton on May 29th. The girls pulled through for a 8-3 win. In the D2 Round of 32 however, they were matched up against the #4 ranked Shepherd Hill. The girls put up a good fight but in the end, Shepherd Hill took home the victory 4-2 on June 1st.
The baseball team went into the tournament ranked #30. Their D2 Prelim Round game, on May 28th, saw them pitted against #35 ranked South High. The Tigers won at home with a score of 6-1. On June 1st, they played their Round of 32 game where they were the away team for a game against the #3 ranked Reading. Reading took the game for a 6-0 win.
That wraps up the spring playoff schedule for the Oliver Tigers 2026 season. Congratulations again to the baseball, softball, girls tennis, and girls lacrosse teams for showing out all season to make it to the playoff stage.
