It was a heavyweight matchup between the third ranked basketball team in Division 2, Oliver Ames, going up against Bridgewater-Raynham, who are ranked third in Division 1.
Justin Grimaldi reached a career milestone as his 23 point effort gave him 1,003 points in his career. Zaire Maddox put together 11 points in this game as well. Despite a back and fourth game, Bridgewater-Raynham was able to rally and win 62-53.
Bridgewater-Raynham had control through the majority of the first quarter, but with the help of a couple 3-pointers, Grimaldi cut Bridgewater-Raynham’s lead to 2 points. The quarter ended with a score of 20-15 in favor of Bridgewater-Raynham.
Bridgewater-Raynham took a 34-29 lead into halftime, but OA came out of the break hot and eventually tied the game up at 36-36 with Grimaldi’s record setting 1,000th point. OA took the lead shortly after with an exciting dunk from Zaire Maddox.
Bridgewater-Raynham eventually started to pull away in the 4th quarter but OA made a valiant effort to keep the game close.
Even with the tough loss, OA boys basketball still possesses a great record at 14-2.
