If you live in Easton, you have at the very least heard of Langwater Farm. In the past few weeks, I’ve heard countless praises about Langwater, their menu, and especially their new sweet potato burger, from teachers and other staff in the building as well as students. Personally I had not been, so I decided to go right after school and try their lunch counter open from 11am-3pm.
The three sandwiches I tried from the counter were the grilled cheese, the goat cheese and beet sandwich, and the sweet potato burger.
The grilled cheese is a classic, and always very tasty. Langwater’s take on it was no different. It was simple, buttery, tangy, and moderately cheesy. These tastes earn the grilled cheese a very strong 8/10.
The goat cheese and beet sandwich was something I was very skeptical about. While looking at the menu, I decided to take a chance on it and I was definitely not disappointed. The flavors combined extremely well and the crispy fried onions added a great crunch that added a ton to the overall taste and texture of the sandwich. Combining these factors with the fact that these ingredients might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it earns a rating of 7/10.
What I really went for, and what everybody who has had it has been raving about, was the sweet potato burger. It features no meat, and the burger is made of sweet potato and quinoa. Before this burger, I had not had a vegetarian burger. However, after having this burger, I can say it was one of the best burgers I’ve had. The sweet potato and quinoa made it have a little bit of a spice to the entire thing. This sandwich also had crispy onions, as well as greens and a chipotle aioli sauce. I can confidently rate this burger a 9/10 for the excellent, fresh taste of it.
All together, Langwater is a great choice to go if you want a quick bite for lunch. The food is all extremely fresh and tasty, and they have a big selection of drinks, snacks, and desserts you can grab with your main course, and if you preorder it like I did, it will be ready to go right when you get there. My overall experience and rating of Langwater Farm is a very strong 8.5/10.
