The Patriots are doing really well in the offseason since the trade deadline has begun because they have acquired a lot of new players on the roster and they have a really bright future with Mike Vrabel leading the way.
The Patriots signed Kevin Byard from the Chicago Bears on a one year deal and he plays safety to bolster our secondary. Alijah Vera-Tucker on a 3 year deal who plays guard because we need some help on the interior. Dre’Mont Jones on a 3 year deal and he plays defensive end to add to our defensive side of the ball. Julian Hill is a tight end and we signed him to a 3 year deal because of the blocking abilities he has for us. Reggie Gillligam is a full back who we signed to a 3 year contract because we don’t have a fullback on our team. We signed another player who is a wide receiver named Romeo Doubs which we signed to a 4 year deal because we need all of the wide receiver help we can get. Kindle Vildor is a cornerback who we signed because he was a free agent and just good to add to our depth. James Hudson III is a tackle on our offensive line that we added in free agency to add more chaos and wreck havoc on any opposing defense.
Drake Maye and Mike Vrabel are going into their second season together and they are going to have a whole offseason together to practice and be more comfortable in the system. Mike Vrabel has done a great job with this team last season because we were one of the worst years prior and then he turned us around to be a Super Bowl team. Our coaching staff and Robert Kraft have all done great teamwork to acquire all of our new players this offseason and we did not have to give up too much for each player.
There are a lot of critics who are reviewing the Patriots offseason and a lot of them are giving the Patriots a solid B+ which is definitely fair because you do not want to be too biased. They made a lot of good moves in the offseason but they can get a couple more key pieces before the season. I would personally give the Patriots a B+ to because I see a lot of potential in them going to back to back superbowls and they could easily win the division again.
The Patriots division is pretty wide open because the Bills and Jets are not going to be good at all. The Bills are going to be our toughest division opponent and they have hired Joe Brady as their Head Coach as he was the offensive coordinator before so we don’t know how they will be. There will be a lot of good in division games because those are always the close matchups throughout the season because they all know each other’s playbooks pretty well.
