Starbucks’ brand new energy refreshers launched nationwide on April 7, and energy drink lovers everywhere are buzzing with excitement. They are the same drinks people know and love but with a little extra push of caffeine and B vitamins.
When we went to try these drinks, they took about 5-10 minutes to prepare. We ordered the strawberry acai lemonade version with light ice and no berries. Coming from a non-energy drink person, the drink was slightly underwhelming. To us, it tasted of lemonade with a slight hint of strawberry acai.
The actual caffeine wasn’t very apparent, it still tasted like your usual strawberry acai refresher with a little more lemonade than usual. For people who don’t usually drink energy drinks, this might be a good introduction since it’s not overpowering in flavor or effect.
In terms of overall experience, the drink felt refreshing but didn’t fully live up to the hype surrounding its release. While it may appeal to regular Starbucks customers looking for a small energy boost, those expecting a strong, noticeable caffeine kick might be disappointed. However, it still offers a lighter alternative to traditional energy drinks, which could make it popular among a wider range of customers.
