Senior year is a busy time for all, but especially if you’re Lindsey Solomon, a two sport varsity captain, class president, and multiple AP student.
Lindsey has been class president for three out of her four years at Oliver Ames. In these years, she has gained leadership experience that carries over into other parts of her life.
“I’ve gained relationships with teammates and been a leader in the teams that I’m on… especially with softball. I was the only person on that team that was in my grade for so long, so I never really had that person to fall back on”.
This experience obviously was a blessing in disguise for Lindsey, as she is now the senior captain of Varsity Softball and Volleyball. Her leadership, alongside junior captain Taylor Donahue, has brought the volleyball team to a 13-0 win streak, and the number one seed in Massachusetts.
“It’s been so much fun, I mean, we’re also having a great season, I’ve seen so much out of so many different people and it’s like every day people just exceed my expectations. It’s so great watching the team grow and watching people form different relationships”.
After Lindsey finishes her stellar senior year, she hopes to attend the University of Michigan, majoring in economics. She plans to carry her involvedness with her wherever she attends.
“I know I want to rush a sorority and be a part of the Jewish community wherever I go, because that’s very important to me too.”
Lindsey’s love for her school shone through as she answered every question with a smile on her face, especially when discussing her passions.
“Getting involved allows you to make an impact, and it leaves you feeling like you’ve done something good. You get to meet new people and you get to unlock a new version of yourself and push yourself to a potential you might not have believed was possible”.
