Earlier this month, Taco Bell opened up in Easton on 482 Foundry Street. In it’s early lifespan, Taco Bell has produced very good business, as well as happiness and satisfaction for the customers it has attracted.
The student body of Oliver Ames has been heavily drawn to Taco Bell since its opening. Flooding the parking lots and keeping the restaurant very busy. Nick Hall, who is a junior at OA, as well as a frequent flyer at Taco Bell, had strong opinions on the accessibility of the chain now.
“I’m very excited because like prior, you’d have to go to like Brockton which I think is like the closest one. Or the one in Raynham is pretty close to me. But like, I’m very excited for the new one to be in Easton.”
Through his numerous visits to the new Taco Bell, Nick has become very fond of certain items on the menu. Although his favorites might be simple classics, they still hit the spot every time.
“I think something simple just like a steak chalupa. I like the chalupas, they’re really good. I like tacos. The Baja Blast Pie is good too, it tastes like a key-lime pie.”
It is not only the student body that has been captivated by the addition of Taco Bell to the town however. Mr. Goldberg, a history teacher here at Oliver Ames also provided his opinions on the opening, and how they brought him back to a time earlier in his life.
“I think it’s great that there’s one close now. I love Taco Bell. I grew up eating it. When I was in high school, there were like three Taco Bells in town. So like, I grew up eating it three times a week. We went there a lot, me and my friends after school, that’s what we would do. We would go to Taco Bell, and we would just hang out and that was about all there was to do. So, I think my love of Taco Bell to this day, even though I don’t eat it very much anymore, brings me back to my youth.”
The opinions and views from people on the outside are one thing, but the views from someone who’s on the inside provide a more in depth understanding. Zaire Maddox, a senior, works at Taco Bell. He spoke his mind from a behind the scenes perspective.
“It’s very busy. It’s very active. There’s a lot of people that come almost 24/7. There’s a lot of… a lot of impatient people, very very impatient people, but it’s a good environment. Really good management team. They manage to keep everything, you know, an order in place no matter how crazy it gets, and it’s very impressive to see. Given the fact that all our managers and staff are very young.”
As well as providing thoughts on the process that Taco Bell works through as a whole, Zaire also had thoughts on the personal aspects and experiences of working there.
“Um, I personally really like working there because, you know, everyone has their own job to do, and it’s not like you have to take over the other people’s responsibilities. Typically everyone is doing what they have to do, so it makes the job go by smooth, very well. And I personally feel like it’s one of the better fast food chains to work at because, you know, other ones kind of seem disorganized, not to you know, throw any shade or anything. This is the most professional and organized establishment that I’ve been a part of.”
