“A Muppet Family Christmas” is my pick for the best Christmas movie ever made. Not only does it have a short and sweet story, a little under an hour long, that brings together families, but it also has a great blend of comedy and nostalgia that makes any viewer enjoy it.
Made in 1987, the special was originally aired on television. This has been my favorite Christmas movie for a very long time. However, most people probably haven’t seen it despite it being so great.
What I love about this movie is that it’s very rewatchable due to how short it is. It also has many funny scenes, the most notable being the running bit of an icy patch at the front door. Whenever a new character arrives at the home, they slip and fall even when they are warned of the ice patch.
The story follows a bunch of the muppets going to visit Fozzie Bear’s mother for Christmas. When they get there, they find out somebody is renting out the house. It also features more than just the muppets, as many characters from Sesame Street also come and visit the house.
This movie is guaranteed to fill you and your family with a happy and jolly feeling. It features classic Christmas songs reimagined with a muppet twist, and many scenes that show why Christmas is so great.
Overall, “A Muppet Family Christmas” leaves the viewer with a reminder that not only is Christmas important, but your connections with family and friends during the holidays are the most valuable thing.
