The average teenager needs to drink around 80 fluid ounces of water per day, and with trendy water bottles such as Hydroflask, Stanley, Owala, and more, this goal is certainly being accomplished. On top of the desks in any classroom, students can see at least one of each of these name brands and more, but the question is, which one is the best?
Owalas are visually the most popular bottles right now, obviously doing the intended jobs of holding water and keeping it cold. Another plus of these bottles is the trend of switching lids and bottles in the store and creating different color combinations. They’re also conveniently sized, which is a need for high school students with limited hands.
“My favorite is an Owala because it doesn’t spill and they have a ton of cute colors that you can have. I only have one though, and I like my color combination.” says junior Kiera Deehan, “I’ve tried random ones from Target and stuff, and I’ve had a Stanley. I love that my Owala can fit in my bag, my Stanley could not fit in my bag.”
The popularity of these water bottles is obvious, as they were the most frequently favored when students were asked. Students like the lids, especially with the famous OA Plague going around.
“My favorite is Owalas because the straw is covered so no germs get on it.” said junior Riley Lindback. “It keeps my water super cold, and I like that there is a straw because it makes me drink a lot of water. It’s easy to carry around and it won’t spill anywhere.”
The straw is a key benefit to these water bottle brands for many many reasons. Even though most water bottles contain a straw, they attract people for many reasons other than their direct purpose.
“I like Stanley’s – like the tumblers – the best because I like the straw, it helps me drink a lot and I like how it’s pretty big so I can hit my hydration goal for the day” said junior Kylie Benjamin.
While there are countless brands of water bottles in the world, the students of Oliver Ames tend to prefer Stanley’s and Owalas the best. No matter what, we can certainly count on the fact that OA pupils are well hydrated!
