Disney is widely known as a place of fun, adventure, and magic for children across the world. Yet for some adults, that sense of wonder never dies. Rodney Schussler, Alex Sylvia, and Megan Campbell are among the many fans who continue to find joy and meaning in Disney as adults.
For most adults, their connection to Disney is deeper than simply entertainment.

When asked what draws her to Disney, Campbell said, “For as long as I can remember, Disney World was our big vacation every summer. So, for me, there is a nostalgia factor there. When I go with my family now, we reminisce a lot about previous trips–from my cousin’s wedding to my first time getting stitches, to the performances I was a part of with the show choir, etc.”
How deep this connection goes is often reflected in the amount of times they have visited the parks.
Schussler says he aims to visit Disney at least once a year, explaining, “Everything’s safe, everything’s sort of orderly. So even though you are paying a premium, um, it’s, like, they’re advertising the product, and that’s the product you get. And so I think when you’re a parent, and then when you get older, you know what I mean? There’s a value to that.”
Like Campbell and Schussler, Alex Sylvia has also kept her love for Disney into adulthood. However, her experience reflects the ongoing idea that Disney is often seen as “just for kids,” even though many adults continue to enjoy it.
She says, “They make fun of me all the time, but I don’t really take offense. Everyone can enjoy Disney in their own ways, no matter what age you are.”
